Patient Care Technician Marshalltown Hospital Department: Med/Surg Schedule: As-Needed

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on our Med/Surg team, you'll play an important role in delivering compassionate, hands-on care that helps patients feel safe, supported, and comfortable throughout their hospital stay. Working alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals, you'll make a meaningful difference by providing direct patient care while contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to support patients' comfort, dignity, and well-being.

• Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and daily living activities.

• Observe, document, and communicate changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.

• Support nurses with clinical procedures and other patient care activities within your scope of practice.

• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.

• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment.

• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

• Promote patient safety by following infection prevention, quality, and safety standards.

• Provide compassionate support to patients and families while creating a positive care experience.

Qualifications

Education:

• Completion of RN/Education lead training Day within 6 months of hire

This position does not get reported with Direct Care Workers (DCW).
