Controls Technician – Building Automation (BAS) – Fresno, CA – $42–$60/hr + OT + Company Vehicle About the Opportunity A well-established Building Automation and HVAC Controls contractor is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to support commercial BAS/DDC installations, service, and commissioning throughout theFresno and Central Valley region. This role is ideal for a technician experienced in building automation who enjoys field work,problem-solving, and working across a mix of commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and municipal facilities. Location: Fresno, CA (Central Valley territory) Employment Type: Full-Time Hourly Rate: $42.00 – $60.00/hr (Depending on Experience) Overtime: Available Company Vehicle & Gas Card: Included Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match Paid Vacation & Holidays Company Laptop, Phone, Tools, and PPE About the Role The Controls Technician will be responsible for the installation, start-up, programming support, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems across a wide variety of commercial environments. You will work closely with mechanicalcontractors, electricians, engineers, and project managers to ensure systems are installed and operating to specification. Key Responsibilities Install and commission DDC/BAS control systems for HVAC applications Troubleshoot hardware, network, and control issues in the field Perform point-to-point checkout, system testing, and functional verification Install and terminate sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication wiring Assist in loading, editing, or tuning BAS programs and graphics Work with contractors and end users during equipment start-up and commissioning Interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and sequences of operation Document work performed and maintain clear communication with supervisors and customers Ideal Candidate Profile Experience as a BAS Controls Technician or similar HVAC controls role Strong hands‑on skills with BAS/DDC device installation and troubleshooting Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks protocols Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and control printsComfort working in commercial, industrial, and government facilities Strong communication and customer-facing skills Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record Preferred Technical Experience Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Automated Logic, Siemens, or Johnson Controls Knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, VAVs, AHUs, chillers, and boilers Prior commissioning experience on new construction or retrofit projects #J-18808-Ljbffr
