Position Summary The Media Producer plays a pivotal role in the Office of Online Learning\'s media production team, contributing to the creation of high-quality, engaging content for diverse audiences. This role operates across every step of the production process: from ideation to product delivery. Key responsibilities center around producing content, with a focus on post-production, including the integration of motion graphics, visual effects, and sound design. The Media Producer collaborates closely with the media manager and clients across all stages of production—providing input from concept development to final product delivery. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role requires aligning creative output with client expectations and contributing to a cohesive team dynamic. Responsibilities Produces video and related media as an effective team member. Participates in related external activities and enhances media and video production services. This includes the full production lifecycle: pre-production planning through production to post-production, collaboration with team members, providing constructive feedback, and working effectively within a team environment. Researches current and emerging production technologies to stay up-to-date with the latest trends. This may include exploring new cameras, editing software, lighting equipment, and techniques such as virtual reality, augmented reality, or drone cinematography. Develops relationships between management, outside vendors, site production, post-production, and customers to develop premium products. Focuses on communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Makes recommendations regarding equipment upgrades and acquisitions, and manages inventory for project supplies. Maintains and fulfills requests from the Media Cooperative\'s digital and physical archives. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in a related field or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience Demonstrated experience in video production, including shooting, editing, and post-production techniques Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and project management toolsets Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage projects independently or as part of a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas concisely A portfolio showcasing video production and editing skills is required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Detail-oriented and highly organized Experience with media production and media production workflows Highly knowledgeable of media production equipment and studio space requirements Knowledge of and experience with Media Production office processes and procedures Experience with technology tools used to support office environments Ability to function in a distributed collaborative work environment Ability to use discretion with confidential information Physical Demands Carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs; driving for work-related duties.
