Junior Accountant/Treasury Assistant

Responsibilities will include:

  Accounting:

• Accounts Payable and project coding of invoices.
• Assist in the preparation and/or review of monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Review and approve expense reports utilizing Concur.
• Prepare and enter journal entries in accounting software (MRI), including importing entries in Excel.
• Maintain general ledger activity and reconcile between supporting schedules and general ledger activity.
• Closing monthly accounting periods.
• Preparing and analyzing trial balance, general ledger and check register reports.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/year-end financial reports – prepare monthly/quarterly/year-end journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare various account analysis as requested.
• Review tenant improvement disbursement requests, ensure they are complete and in compliance with lease documents.
• Assist in compiling information required in preparing construction loan draw requests.
• Research and respond to internal and external accounting/financial questions and resolve issues.

Treasury:

• Obtain daily (previous day/current day) cash activity reports and record daily cash activity on excel

spreadsheets.

• Prepare daily wire transactions, as needed, in Excel or Word and setting up on online banking systems for review and release.
• Assist in the completion of bank account opening/closing documentation.
• Assist in deposit transactions (endorsing, deposit slips, bank deposits).
• Track monthly bank fees and prepare reimbursement billings to the applicable entities.
• Responsible to maintain all bank account and applicable accounting databases.
• Assist auditors in the preparation of cash and debt confirms.
• Support all departments in the Company in any cash management tasks.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.

· Minimum of 2 - 3 years of relevant experience.

· Knowledge of MRI Real Estate Accounting Software preferred.

· Real estate experience a plus.

· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel and Word.

· Must be a team player having the ability to multi-task and is self directed.

· Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.

· Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills.

· Articulate, professional individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
