Strategic Projects Lead Company: Tuscany Strategies Location: Mountain View, CA (On-site) Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $140,000 - $200,000/year Education: Bachelor’s About the Role The Strategic Projects Lead owns multi-million dollar contracts with frontier AI labs and enterprise customers from day one. You manage end-to-end delivery across budget, schedule, and scope while coordinating large distributed teams of annotators, engineers, and domain specialists. This is a deeply operational role sitting at the intersection of project management, data operations, and customer success. Bespoke is rapidly scaling its data and RL environment business and needs operators who can absorb complex, high-stakes customer work and turn it into reliable, revenue-generating delivery without a playbook. You will have direct ownership of customer relationships, full visibility into frontier AI training workflows, and the ability to build systems and processes from scratch. Flat structure, direct access to leadership, and a scope that expands as fast as you can take it. What You’ll Own Own end-to-end delivery of customer projects across budget, schedule, and scope with clear accountability for outcomes. Track project milestones and quality standards across distributed expert teams. Identify bottlenecks early and resolve problems before they become blockers. Communicate directly with customers (frontier AI labs and enterprises) to understand needs, set priorities, and manage expectations. Build and scale data pipelines and operational processes that drive real revenue across distributed global teams. Manage large teams of annotators, engineers, and domain specialists across time zones and aggressive deadlines. Design systems and workflows from scratch when playbooks do not exist. Make high-impact daily decisions on resource allocation, scope, and trade-offs using SQL and Python for data analysis. Requirements Must-Have 4-8 years of professional experience managing complex projects, teams, or operations. Early-to-mid-career bar. Strong conceptual and analytical problem-solving: CS undergraduate degree required. Comfortable with SQL and Python for data analysis and operational tracking. Strong written and verbal English fluency: written communication is especially critical because expert teams are engaged over Discord. Verbal needed for acceleration sessions with experts. Operations execution against quality, speed, and cost simultaneously: can balance trade-offs across all three dimensions without sacrificing any one. Strong planning and execution with risk mitigation: bias for action, systems thinker, high empathy for the customer, calm under pressure, high ownership, and tenacity. Nice-to-Have PM or operations experience at a data company, AI lab, or benchmarking organization. Experience managing distributed expert teams (annotators, engineers, domain specialists). MBA or management background combined with hands-on technical grounding. Background in Mercor, Handshake, or comparable AI operations companies.
