Job Description

This role focuses on on-the-road diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of customer-owned commercial fleet equipment, including trucks, cranes, inverters, lighting, and multi-functional power systems. You travel to customer job sites and business locations to perform field service work, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to high quality and customer service standards. When necessary, you may bring equipment back to the shop to complete more extensive repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on customer-owned commercial fleet equipment, including trucks, cranes, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and multi-functional power systems
• Conduct required crane inspections and ANSI inspections in accordance with applicable standards and company procedures
• Carry out inspections, repairs, services, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and truck-mounted systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field and complete repairs using appropriate tools, parts, and technical manuals
• Coordinate larger or more complex repair needs quickly, including arranging for equipment to be brought back to the shop when necessary
• Assist with warranty qualifications and ensure all warranty-related documentation is completed accurately
• Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, inspection findings, and repair recommendations for each job
• Manage parts inventory in the service vehicle and maintain sufficient stock and labeling to meet customer needs efficiently
• Schedule your own service and repair work, ensuring timely response to approximately 2–3 service calls per day depending on job duration
• Provide high-level customer service and professional communication at customer job sites and business locations
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, regulations, and company procedures while working in diverse environments and at multiple branch sites
• Work both independently on the road and collaboratively with other mobile mechanics and shop personnel as needed
• Supply and maintain your own basic hand and power tools required to perform field service work
• Complete a significant amount of paperwork and reporting, including service orders, inspection reports, and inventory records, with strong attention to detail
• Travel daily to customer locations and branch sites in areas such as Allentown, Bensalem, Philadelphia, and Piscataway, returning home each day
• Be willing to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands and complete service commitments

Work Environment

This is a first-shift road-based position with typical hours from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch break, averaging approximately 45–50 hours per week. You work primarily in the field, traveling to different branch and customer sites in areas such as Philadelphia, Bensalem, Allentown, and Piscataway, generally within about a two-hour drive each way. Most work is performed at customer locations, and on rare occasions you may work out of the shop when not traveling. You handle roughly 2–3 service calls per day, depending on job length, and you return home every night with no overnight travel required. A company vehicle is provided for daily travel, and you take the vehicle home, with all related expenses covered. The environment involves working on trucks and heavy equipment outdoors and in shop or yard settings, using hand and power tools and specialized equipment to perform inspections, repairs, service, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and comfort with a mix of physical work, driving, and detailed paperwork and reporting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fleetwood, PA.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Fleetwood,PA.
