Highway Project Engineer

Highway Project Engineer Locations: Douglassville, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia, PA STV is growing! We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Highway Project Engineer to join our Transportation team in Pennsylvania. In this role, you’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio of roadway, highway, and transit projects—helping deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that meet project schedules, budgets, and client expectations. Strong experience with MicroStation InRoads is essential, and familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer is a plus. What You’ll Do Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects Mentor and guide junior engineers in highway geometry and modeling software best practices Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, surveyors, planners, and project managers Prepare detailed roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure plans and technical specifications Conduct design reviews, constructability analyses, and quality control checks Assist with project reports, client presentations, and communications Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in OpenRoads and related tools What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus) Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Pennsylvania Minimum 6 years of transportation engineering experience with a strong focus on roadway and geometric design Strong proficiency in MicroStation InRoads (OpenRoads Designer experience preferred) Experience with signing, pavement markings, and traffic control plans Familiarity with PennDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA design standards Experience with traffic signals and ITS (a plus) Stormwater management and Erosion & Sedimentation Control design/permitting experience (a plus) Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Professional society involvement (a plus) Why Join STV?
