Medical Administrative AssistantThe Medical Administrative Assistant will play an integral role in the day-to-day support of the Nursing department to ensure the needs of the individuals we support are met. He or she will report to the Director of Nursing.Position Duties:Handling incoming and outgoing calls, accurately documenting messagesOrganizing and uploading files and consultations into EMRScheduling medical appointments for people supportedEffectively communicating relevant information to all departments and families and redirecting inquiries as needed, including but not limited to sending out weekly appointment scheduleObtaining and managing pharmacy refills and communicating relevant informationTyping correspondence, reports, memos, and manuals with attention to detail and efficiencyInteracting professionally with outside agencies, vendors, and other facilitiesMaintaining confidentiality of nursing department data and personnel informationSupporting departmental tasks and payroll duties as requiredReport to the Director of NursingOther duties as assignedRequirements:At least 3 years of experience in a nursing home or healthcare settingExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalismFamiliarity with EMR systems and scheduling transportation for patients
