Ronald McDonald House Central Indiana is hiring a part-time Guest Services Assistant to cover the hours when our House is fullest and families need us most - evenings, weekends, and holidays. A Day in the Life

At a Ronald McDonald House, families can be together, enjoy home-cooked meals, and receive compassionate hospitality and support from staff and volunteers. As part of the Guest Services team, you will keep the spaces safe, welcoming, and running smoothly for every family and guest. On a typical shift, you might:

• Welcome arriving families, complete check-ins and check-outs, and orient guests to the House
• Serve as the first point of contact at the front desk - answering calls, directing questions, and connecting families to the resources they need
• Conduct regular rounds to maintain a secure, comfortable environment
• Support volunteer and meal groups as they serve dinner to guests
• Keep common areas stocked, tidy, and ready for the next family
• Document guest interactions and communicate shift updates to the team
• Coordinate with hospital partners and community agencies to best serve families

No two shifts look exactly alike, and the work asks for steady judgment and genuine warmth in equal measures.

The Schedule - Read This Part

Serving two spaces, we operate from 7 AM to 11 PM, 365 days a year. Families stay for days, weeks, months, and during the holidays.

• 20–25 hours per week, scheduled within our hours of operation
• Primarily evening shifts on weekdays
• Morning and evening weekend coverage
• Organizational holiday coverage is required - Thanksgiving and Christmas are paid at double time.

Flexibility and open availability are highly preferred, and the Hiring Manager will walk through specifics during the interview process.

What You Need to Qualify

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in customer service and/or hospitality preferred
• Interest in human services and a demonstrated ability to collaborate well with people of all backgrounds, cultural groups, and economic levels
• Sociable, comfortable working closely with others, and equally capable of working independently
• Able to stay composed and kind in a constantly changing environment
• Availability that matches the schedule described above
