GCP Data Engineer (SAP FI Focus)

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on GCP Data Engineer with strong SAP Finance (FI) knowledge to support the buildout of a Finance Data Platform on Google Cloud (BigQuery). The consultant will play a critical role in integrating SAP S/4HANA or ECC FI data into GCP, enabling financial reporting, reconciliations, and planning use cases.

This is an execution-focused role requiring deep technical skills, finance data understanding, and the ability to deliver quickly in an enterprise environment. Within GCP Data Engineering, you will be responsible for building scalable pipelines using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow all while developing logic using SQL and Python. Within finance data modeling, you will help design finance ready datasets using trial balance, P&L balance sheet structures and implementing data models for cost centers, profit centers, etc. Another responsibility will include building curated layers for downstream analytics using PowerBI and Tableau.

Skills and Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

-Strong Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

-Extensive experience with BigQuery, fluent in Design

-Proficiency in SQL (advanced), Python (data engineering use cases)

-Hands-on experience working with SAP FI data: GL, AP, AR, CO components, Understanding of accounting fundamentals (P&L, Balance Sheet, Journal Entries)

-Experience building ETL/ELT frameworks using:

Dataflow / Composer (Airflow) / dbt / Dataform, with a strong understanding of: Data modeling (dimensional or data vault) and Data quality and reconciliation techniques -Experience with SAP S/4HANA or Central Finance (CFIN)

-Familiarity with SAP data structures and finance tables

-Experience integrating with planning/reporting tools:

Anaplan, SAC, Power BI, Tableau

-Experience implementing: Row-level security / IAM-based access controls, Data governance frameworks, Prior experience in Healthcare / Retail / Enterprise Finance organization (strong plus)
