Job Title: RN - ICU Stepdown

Shifts: Days or Nights (Rotating Weekends)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled ICU Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic healthcare team in Sanford, FL. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and assess comprehensive patient health data
• Monitor critical vital signs and respond to life-threatening situations
• Provide direct patient care and manage treatment plans effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on medications, procedures, and care plans
• Advocate for patients throughout their care journey
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to document and improve patient care

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU Stepdown RN experience
  (Candidates with 3+ years of Cardiac PCU or Multisystem PCU experience are also encouraged to apply)
• Active Florida RN license or compact license (with ability to obtain FL license within required timeframe)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• BLS certification (within 30 days of start)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (within 30 days of start)
• ACLS certification (within 6 months of start)

Unit Details:

• 15-bed ICU Stepdown unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: typically 3:1 (may extend to 4:1)
• Exposure to drips and long-term ventilated patients
