Position Summary Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Purchaser to support a government contract based in Jacksonville, Florida at Mayport. Duties / Essential Functions Review and process purchase requisitions and update management on order statuses. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders. Analyze and evaluate offers from suppliers to determine the most cost-effective solutions. Maintain records of goods ordered and received. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness. Forecast upcoming demand and manage inventory levels to ensure production continuity. Qualifications / Education / Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Proven two (2) years’ work experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar role. Valid Driver’s License. Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to network and influence people. Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. Proficient in MAXIMO (preferred). Proficiency in Peoplesoft.
