About the Role:

The Vet Technician plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians by providing high-quality medical care to animals in a clinical setting. This position involves performing a variety of technical tasks such as collecting samples, conducting laboratory tests, administering medications, and assisting during surgical procedures. Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program.
• Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the state of employment.
• Basic knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common diseases.
• Ability to handle animals safely and humanely.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with veterinarians, staff, and pet owners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting.
• Proficiency in diagnostic laboratory techniques and equipment operation.
• Advanced certifications such as VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist) in a relevant area.
• Familiarity with veterinary practice management software.
• Continuing education in emerging veterinary technologies and treatments.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Collect and process laboratory samples including blood, urine, and tissue.
• Administer prescribed medications and vaccinations to animals as directed.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress throughout treatment.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and work areas.
• Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, nutrition, and general animal health.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Perform diagnostic imaging such as X-rays under veterinarian supervision.
