Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees while promoting a focus on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized plans of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for patients and collaborate with patients/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain safety standards and contribute positively to the unit's functioning and team dynamics.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested and participate in professional growth through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• PCU experience preferred.
