Neuro Medicine ICU - Registered Nurse

Job Description

This role is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, focusing specifically on critically ill Neuro patients requiring specialized nursing and medical care. The successful candidate will manage patients with diagnoses such as traumatic brain injuries, aneurysms, status epilepticus, strokes, and other critical neurological conditions in a state-of-the-art, 12-bed ICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, specialized care to critically ill neuro patients.
• Utilize strong critical thinking and communication skills in managing complex patient needs.
• Cascade care coordination during high-pressure situations and emergencies.
• Maintain current knowledge and skills related to critical care nursing.
• Monitor telemetry data and intervene as necessary based on patient acuity.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN License in New York.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an ICU acute care setting.
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (both through the American Heart Association).
• Telemetry experience is mandatory.
• NIHSS certification is required.

Schedule

This position operates on a 3x12-hour shift rotation that includes day, evening, and night shifts. Employees are expected to work during holidays, on-call, and callback as needed by unit requirements.
