Enrichment Intervention Specialist (PTA Funded) – Elementary Reports To: Building Principal Classification: Professional | Wage/Hour Status: Exempt | Days: 188 | Salary: See Compensation Plan for New Hire Guide for Teachers | Contract: Probationary/Term | Date Revised: 11/15/2023 Primary Purpose Collaborate with and support grade‑level teachers to design and deliver lessons and activities that provide challenge and rigor for Kinder through Fifth Grade high‑achieving students who do not have the opportunity to attend SPIRAL, as well as for GT students. Provide push‑in or pull‑out enrichment intervention for high‑achieving students in reading, writing, math, and/or science. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid Texas Teacher Certification or out‑of‑state Teaching Certificate appropriate for the position (preferred). Gifted and Talented Certification or Texas Supplemental Certification (preferred over the 30‑hour certification). Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position as required by federal and/or state law. Special Knowledge and Skills Ability to progress high‑achieving students in reading, writing, math, and science. Expertise in providing curriculum enhancements through enriching push‑in or pull‑out instruction. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient use of technology, including Google Suite. Experience Five (5) years of experience teaching gifted and talented students in primary and intermediate grades (preferred). Experience working with high‑achieving students who are not identified as gifted and talented. Experience planning and implementing enriching activities that enhance the curriculum. Responsibilities Adhere to the district’s philosophy of instruction. Co‑develop and implement small‑group instruction plans for high‑achieving students to enrich the curriculum, with documented preparation. Collaborate with teachers to identify and support growth in reading, writing, math, and science. Assess students’ learning strengths and interests and use results to plan challenging lessons. Modify curricula as needed for high‑achieving students. Present challenging, enriching lessons and activities in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines and district policies. Utilize technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Help students analyze and improve work habits and set personal learning goals. Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and serve as a positive role model. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Create a conducive learning environment and maintain scheduling consistency. Protect students, equipment, and facilities. Maintain accurate digital and physical records. Build relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. Communicate effectively with teachers and parents about intervention groups. Monitor progress on goals in the RtI process when needed. Provide professional learning for teachers and support faculty meetings and committees. Perform other duties as assigned.
