Job Title: Step Down Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Valid compact nursing license must be in hand at submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips experience Epic charting system experience Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in step down care. Floating between units is required. Weekends are required, specifically every other weekend. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. The hospital is a short-term acute care facility and a Level II Trauma Center. The dress code for licensed nursing personnel is solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire. Nursing personnel must adhere to the uniform standards. Free parking is available in designated areas. The average daily census in the unit is approximately 28.8 patients. The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The unit's patient diagnoses primarily involve renal care. Special procedures may include bedside peritoneal dialysis managed by the dialysis team. Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips is a critical requirement. Travelers may be required to float between nearby healthcare facilities. Failure to comply with floating requirements may result in termination of the assignment. Candidates should provide two references covering a minimum of one year within the last three years. Candidates must not reach out to facility contacts directly unless communicated for scheduled interviews.
