About the Position

Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist Profession: Allied Health Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days with Call Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active Illinois license or confirmation of application process Certifications: ARRT, BLS Must-Have: Previous cath lab experience; pediatric experience preferred but not required; familiarity with McKesson cardiology PACS preferred but not required Description: The Cath Lab is equipped with six suites/labs. On average, 10 to 15 cases are performed each day. The role includes tasks such as scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating. Techs are required to be available for weekly call on a rotational basis, typically 8-9 shifts per month. Holiday call requirements are also on a rotational basis. Techs are not required to float at this time. Scrubs are provided by the facility. Unit-specific orientation typically lasts 3 to 5 days. The primary charge nurse is present from 0600 to 1530. Call response time is 30 minutes from the time of page. Cardiologist physicians are available on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. An essential note is that there is a mandatory call list for staff unable to fulfill their call shift. Candidates must understand the facility has a drug-free policy and must pass a negative drug screen for all panels. Common patient diagnoses and types of cases seen in this department relate specifically to cardiac needs. Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC and McKesson is beneficial for this position.
