Clinical Director Physical Therapist

Compensation: USD 100,000 - USD 130,000 - yearly Job Description The Clinical Director in training must be an experienced Doctor of Physical Therapy. This individual will oversee the day-to‑day operations of our Anchorage clinic while gaining valuable experience and mentorship from our leadership team and fellow Clinical Directors during a 90‑day training period. Upon successful completion, the title of Clinical Director will be conferred. As a Clinical Director, your primary goal is to cultivate an efficiently run clinic that is both productive and profitable while maintaining a positive team culture. This is a highly responsible professional health‑care and management position requiring strong managerial skill, quality and productivity focus, and leadership expertise. The Clinical Director (CD) will be accountable for patient care (quality and productivity), clinic culture, timely documentation, and appropriate billing. The CD will work closely with the Practice Supervisor, the Lead New Patient Coordinator, and the Marketing Assistant to monitor referrals, clinical standards, and targeted location demographics. The CD will also collaborate with the COO to ensure proper recruitment, training, and mentorship of new providers. The position carries direct profit and loss responsibility for the clinic. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee physical therapists in conducting evaluations on each patient and devising a plan of care based on objective, functional, and subjective findings. Documentation of findings, assessment, and plan of care (plan, frequency, duration, and goals) must conform to company policies, standards, and regulations. Provides a work environment that fosters clinician development and growth, teamwork, productivity, and a wow experience. Ensures accurate documentation of care, including additional reports required by other referring physicians and agencies. Conducts monthly chart audits of two clinicians to verify accuracy (delegatable to the ACD). Responsible for appropriate billed charges of all clinical services rendered. Including: Ensures proper unit counts are billed. Ensures units are diversified. Handles customer service issues for the clinic and reports disposition to Practice Supervisor and HR as appropriate. Complies with all regulations and codes governing physical‑therapy practice in the state of Alaska. Communicates with referral sources and liaises with the Marketing Assistant to coordinate patient care. Compiles and interprets key performance indicators. Tracks providers whose KPI’s fall below expectations. Meets with providers to discuss action plans when KPI expectations are not met. Coordinates and plans in‑services with the Clinical Research Coordinator for peers within the company, and schedules future in‑services with external teachers as needed. Participates in training to improve business skills such as communication, administration, leadership, sales, and finance. Manages staff schedule in collaboration with the Practice Supervisor and Director of Administration. Consults with the COO as necessary. Motivates, leads, encourages, and sets an example to help the clinical team attain productivity targets and expectations. Oversees maintenance of all clinic facilities and equipment. Ensures clinic and staff adherence to corporate HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations (coordinate with HR director). Performs an annual inspection of all clinical equipment in the location to assess adequacy against company quality expectations. Reports deficiencies and recommendations to the COO. Manages the operations of clinicians and staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Participates in regular meetings with other managers (COO, location CD’s, Supervisor, Marketing Assistant, etc.). Coordinates staffing needs with Supervisor, Director of Administration, and COO. When needed, participates in the interview process for PTs, PTAs, and occasionally PT Aides being considered for hire. Coordinates with Billing Specialist regarding billing, compliance, and best practices. Responsible for clinician training in conjunction with the COO. Gathers, records, and reports KPI data to CEO, COO, CFO.
