Lateral Law enforcement Dispatcher

Overview Under the guidance of the Children and Families Commission for San Bernardino, and in collaboration with the community and agencies providing services to children, First 5 San Bernardino promotes, supports and enhances the early development of children (prenatal through age five) through a needs based, family centered, culturally appropriate, accessible and integrated service delivery system with well-defined and meaningful outcomes, so that all children enjoy optimal physical, cognitive, emotional and social well-being. Under general direction, The First 5 Supervising Office Assistant (Contract) will perform supervisory and administrative support work, plan, organize, and coordinate the work of clerical, administrative and other support staff. Work requires supervising workflow, assisting with and reviewing work procedures, timelines and quality of work products and resolving questions and issues regarding policies and procedures for subordinates. Incumbents serve as authoritative source on regulations, rules and interpretation of policy and guidelines. This is a contract position and serves at the pleasure of the Children and Families Commission and the County of San Bernardino. Minimum Requirements Three (3) years of office clerical experience which includes performing a wide variety of difficult and responsible clerical duties, serving as a lead clerical worker, or supervising a clerical unit. Desired Qualifications Progressively responsible clerical experience in a First 5 environment or agency serving children and families is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will also have progressively responsible clerical experience which includes supervision of varied clerical staff and demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines, and computer and typing/keyboarding skills.
