Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, establishing a therapeutic alliance that supports patient engagement and recovery.

  • Complete thorough bio-psychosocial assessments to inform treatment plans, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each patient’s history and needs.

  • Develop, implement, and review tailored treatment plans with each patient, regularly assessing progress and modifying strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Create aftercare and discharge plans that empower clients to succeed beyond their time in treatment, reinforcing skills and coping strategies.

  • Deliver efficient and effective counseling services, managing a steady caseload and ensuring continuity of care with other treatment providers and support services.

  • Collaborate with peers and supervisors to maintain high-quality care standards, participating in team meetings and reviews to share insights pertaining to patient experiences and treatment efficacy.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall functioning of the department and organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on patients facing challenges related to mental health disorders, particularly those with co-occurring substance use issues. You will work with a diverse population of individuals, including adults, adolescents, and families, fostering an inclusive and accepting environment that respects each client's background and personal experiences.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
  • \n
  • A valid license as an LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or PsyD in the state of New York.
  • \n
  • At least two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting focused on mental health counseling.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated experience in providing marriage and family therapy services to a broad range of clients, including children and families.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective client and team interactions.
  • \n
  • Ability to work autonomously while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.

  • A background in working with chemically dependent clients is highly desirable.

  • A positive, non-judgmental attitude towards patients, ensuring a welcoming and supportive therapeutic environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While the required qualifications are significant, we also encourage applicants with experience in evidence-based practices related to addiction treatment, family therapy modalities, and trauma-informed care, as well as familiarity with digital counseling tools and telehealth methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits\n
