Credit Manager

As Manager, Credit Team , you are responsible for leading the company’s credit operations; developing and enforcing credit policies; evaluating customer credit worthiness; setting credit limits; managing accounts receivable balances and timely collections. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, credit assessment experience, team leadership capability and demonstrate ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity. This role is critical to managing overall credit risk by optimizing cash flow, minimizing bad debt exposure, and maintaining healthy customer relationships. What You’ll Do Develop and enforce the company’s credit policies and procedures Maintain up-to-date credit records Maintain a consistent flow of orders to distribution to maximize sales while also managing credit risk exposure Stay current on economic factors and industry trends that may impact customers Provide recommendations to improve the company’s overall credit risk management strategy Prepare and present reports on credit related activities to upper management Define and maintain credit metrics for tracking team and company performance Develop supporting documentation for annual financial audits or state sales and use tax audits Credit Assessment Evaluate customers’ credit worthiness and set credit terms and credit limits Understand financial statements and how to analyze credit reports Accept or Reject team members credit recommendations Collections Oversight Define and manage the overall collections strategy Monitor status of accounts on credit terms Ownership of accounts receivable aging report and resolving outstanding balances Pursue collections while maintaining strong customer relationships to secure future orders Issue demand letters, partner with our collections agency and manage write-offs Team & Relationship Management Provide training and guidance to the credit team members Collaborate with other departments such as sales, accounting, customer operations and shipping to resolve credit issues Build strong relationships with customers and sales reps Lead departmental and cross functional AR aging meetings As a Curio Leader and Manager You provide direction and coordination to your team to help meet operational and team goals. You understand that success in your role could include occasional extended work hours as necessary to meet seasonal deadlines and that periodically, you may be asked to perform other duties not included in your role description. What You Bring Qualifications: Proven work experience as a Credit Manager or similar role 6+ years of credit/collections experience 4+ years of supervisory experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel ERP experience Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or relevant field Experience in consumer goods or manufacturing Core Competencies: Credit risk and financial analysis Cash flow optimization Analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational and team leadership skills Confidentiality and integrity Additional Information Travel Requirement: less than 5% Work Environment: General office or home office environment Physical Requirements: Occasionally required to lift and/or move items weighing 10 – 15 pounds.
