Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician supports surgical procedures by preparing instruments, supplies, equipment, and the operative environment. The role assists the surgical team throughout procedures while maintaining aseptic technique, accurate counts, proper specimen handling, and a clean surgical suite.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, or graduation from an approved program within twelve months; American Heart Association (AHA) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification; mature professional conduct, including tact, empathy, diplomacy, and support of a positive working environment.
• Schedule: Day shift; 10-hour shifts; minimum 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include preparing surgical tables, instruments, supplies, and equipment; assisting with patient skin preparation and draping; applying aseptic practices; performing disinfection, sterilization, and environmental control procedures; maintaining accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts; disposing of sharps appropriately; preparing specimens and cultures for laboratory analysis; and supporting surgical suite cleanliness and room turnover. The role requires frequent reaching, handling, and feeling; occasional stooping and kneeling; and the ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
