Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Labor and Delivery License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: - ACLS (AHA) - AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring - BLS (AHA) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: - 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience - Trained in LDRP - Ability to triage and function as the baby catcher/transition nurse Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Labor and Delivery setting. Candidates must have experience in Labor and Delivery and be trained in LDRP. The role requires the nurse to triage patients. The nurse will also function as the baby catcher and transition nurse. Candidates do not need to circulate C-sections or manage post-operative GYN patients. RNs are required to titrate drips, including Pitocin. The charge nurse is one of the two nurses on the shift. There are no nurse aides or surgical techs on this unit. Obstetricians are not in-house but have a 20-minute response time. Anesthesia is in-house during regular business hours and on-call after hours with a 20-minute response time. Respiratory Therapy is requested to attend deliveries but may not always be available. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for ratios as much as possible. The schedule includes 12-hour night shifts, with some self-scheduling available. Weekend and holiday requirements include working half of weekends and half of winter holidays. There is no on-call or standby requirement. Scrubs are not provided, and there is no color requirement for the dress code. The hospital has a cancellation policy allowing for shift cancellations under specified conditions. The charting system used is EPIC.
