We're recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join an established Plastics Manufacturer in Shelbyville, IN.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business, supporting plant automation and capital projects while driving equipment reliability, process improvements and continuous manufacturing performance.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing automation systems including PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems
- Program and modify PLC logic, HMIs and operator interface systems
- Configure and troubleshoot AC/DC drives, servo drives and variable frequency drives
- Support automation instrumentation including barcode/RFID readers, I/O and industrial communication networks
- Design electrical drawing packages, specifications and project documentation
- Develop project cost estimates, schedules and oversee capital projects
- Coordinate equipment vendors, contractors and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and support electrical maintenance activities
- Assist with process data collection, system connectivity and reliability improvements
- Support continuous improvement and automation initiatives across the facility
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering Technology or equivalent
- 5-7 years' experience in industrial electrical engineering or controls
- Experience with PLC programming, HMI, OPC and SCADA systems
- Strong understanding of analog, digital and logic circuits
- Experience installing and troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs and power distribution systems
- Ability to install, commission and modify new or retrofitted automated equipment
- Knowledge of integrated controls and industrial communication platforms
- Experience with MES and Historian Systems is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering software
