About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: ACLS Preferred, BLS Certification Description: The unit has 32 beds and provides remote telemetry. Patients are monitored for telemetry if it is ordered. Telemetry is monitored 24/7. IV drips include dopamine at a constant rate for renal profusion with no titration. Heparin is administered as per protocol. The unit accepts medical max stable vent patients. Bipap patients are also treated here. Care includes acute and chronic renal failure patients. Dialysis and fluid overload management are part of the responsibilities. The unit serves medical and surgical patients. Internal medicine physicians and family practice doctors are involved in patient care. There may be overflow from hospitalists. The cancellation policy allows for up to 2 shifts to be canceled without penalty for assignments less than 13 weeks and up to 3 shifts for longer assignments. The charting system used is Cerner. A BSN is not required for this position. The trauma level is appropriate for acute care settings. Required certifications include ACLS preferred and BLS certification.
