Position: Industrial Maintenance


Location: Texarkana, TX


Hours: Friday - Sunday 6am - 6:30pm


Pay: $20/hour


APPLICANT PAYS NO FEE

This position provides support for all other plant departments by proper maintenance and repair of equipment, and assisting with mechanical / electrical related concerns in other job functions.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:


This job consists of performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of plant facilities and equipment. Repairs could necessitate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic components, and forklift maintenance.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


This job requires the ability to effectively use shop equipment (welders, milling machine, lathe, etc.) for revisions, repairs, or fabrication of equipment parts.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


This job requires one to two years of experience in electromechanical maintenance of moderate speed packaging or similar rotating equipment.

RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER JOBS:


This job reports to the Operations Manager and is required to cooperate and communicate with hourly, supervisory, and management personnel in all other departments with the major emphasis being on the Production and Packaging and Labeling Departments. This job supports other jobs by maintaining equipment in safe and proper working order. Due to changing needs, this job is required to work any shift and requires overtime with a minimum of notice.

SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT / MATERIALS:

1. Type/Purpose: Hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) and powered hand tools (drills, grinders and saws). Requires general mechanical training. Used daily; this knowledge is essential and required.
2. Type/Purpose: Burning, welding equipment. Requires one year of welding experience. This may be required daily; it is essential and required.
3. Type/Purpose: Volt/Ohm meter. Requires basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge; this will be performed as needed; it is essential and required (110V, 220V, 480V).
4. Type/Purpose: Forklift driving. Requires forklift safety training to be performed as needed; it is essential and required.
5. Type/Purpose: Equipment manuals. Requires the ability to read and understand manuals. To be used as needed; it is essential and required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL OR ABILITY REQUIRED:


This job requires a good understanding of the operation and maintenance of reciprocating and rotating equipment. The ability to troubleshoot equipment, diagnose deficiencies, and effect repairs are necessary. The job requires the ability to perform basic electrical testing and to make electrical repairs. The ability to read and interpret machine drawings, blueprints, and electrical diagrams is very important in this job. This position requires the ability to adapt to changing situations and to perform under pressure in an effective manner.
