Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.This position is intended for the Generator group in the Propulsion and Reactor Engineering Planning Yard. The incumbent will be responsible for recommending and designing upgrades to existing control systems; applying electrical and electronic engineering principles to test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems in support of the U.S. Navy; and working with a group of technical individuals who analyze problems, research, design, and develop solutions to resolve problems associated with power generation equipment. Must HaveBachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.Nice to HaveCommercial or Naval Experience with electrical generating equipment and related support/control systems is preferred.
