Sr. Medical Assistant - Cypress, TX

Location: Cypress, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Sr. Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare organization in Cypress, TX . This is an excellent opportunity for a certified Medical Assistant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced Family Medicine/Internal Medicine setting and providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

You'll work closely with one provider at a time in a 1:1 MA-to-provider model. The clinic has approximately 14 providers and sees around 26 patients per day , making strong organization, efficiency, and attention to detail essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Support the assigned physician with daily clinical and administrative responsibilities.

   

• Room approximately 26 patients per day in a fast-paced primary care environment.

   

• Prepare patients for examinations, including rooming, obtaining vital signs, and gathering relevant medical information.

   

• Assist with patient flow and ensure providers are prepared for each appointment.

   

• Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider.

   

• Assist with medication management and maintain accurate medication information.

   

• Order and process laboratory tests and other clinical orders as needed.

   

• Manage provider in-baskets between patients , including reviewing and routing messages and completing appropriate follow-up tasks.

   

• Obtain and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.

   

• Enter and update patient information, orders, and clinical documentation.

   

• Assist with maintaining exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinical equipment.

   

• Coordinate patient care and communicate relevant information to providers and other members of the healthcare team.

   

• Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-focused service throughout the patient visit.

   

• Follow established clinical, safety, infection-control, and facility procedures.

   

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare regulations and policies.

   

• Perform other Medical Assistant duties as assigned.

   

Facility Requirement: This is a non-smoking facility , and candidates must be able to successfully complete a required drug and nicotine screening .

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

   

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.

   

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.

   

• American Heart Association (AHA) certification required.

   

• Previous experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, or a specialty clinic preferred.

   

• Experience with patient rooming, vital signs, injections, medication management, and laboratory orders required.

   

• Experience managing provider in-baskets and electronic medical record tasks preferred.

   

• Strong knowledge of electronic medical records and clinical documentation.

   

• Excellent clinical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

   

• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

   

• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and accuracy.
