Constantine Wines is a premium beverage distributor with 40 years of experience, serving the DC, MD, and DE markets. Our sister company, Axios, is a national boutique winery located in Napa, CA, known for its exceptional wines and national distribution. Summary We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper with HR duties. This role is a great opportunity for someone with 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, HR, and payroll. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations. Responsibilities Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using VIP and QuickBooks systems. Must be skilled in the latest technology and classic accountancy, as our system requires journal entries, postings, manual reconciliations, etc.. Accounts Payable: Manage various types of payments, including mandatory state records. Create and upload Positive Pay files to the bank. Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and fixed asset reconciliations. Daily review of bank Positive Pay items. HR: Maintain personnel files and data with integrity. Initiate and implement insurance enrollment for eligible employees. Payroll: Oversee timesheet management. Prepare and process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls. Update payroll system with personnel changes. Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations, including licenses and various tax filings. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3 years of relevant bookkeeping experience. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Create and change pivot tables in Excel. Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Trustworthiness and transparency.
