Registered Nurse - OB/GYN

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care within the obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) unit, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, nursing standards, and care protocols. The role involves direct patient care, monitoring, and coordination to promote optimal outcomes for women's health.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and oversee nursing care for OB/GYN patients, following established standards of practice.
• Monitor patient conditions, document assessments, and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients on health concerns, procedures, and post-care instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including infection control and patient privacy regulations.
• Manage nursing supplies and assist with patient admissions and discharges as needed.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 1 year of recent OB/GYN nursing experience.
• Hold current state nursing license in Michigan.
• Certification in BLS (AHA) is required; additional OB/GYN-specific certifications are a plus.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the nursing process, patient assessment, and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, acute care environment.
