Overview:

The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for creating and assembling metal structures and components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to set up welding for various materials
• Accurately cut, fit, and weld engineered released details
• Machinery that will be used daily: MIG and TIG welders, Horizontal and Vertical band saws, sheet metal shear, grinder, and brake
• Work in accordance with blueprints, and/or verbal instructions
• Manage time effectively
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and plan sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently
• Construct patterns and templates as guides for layouts
• Layout reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications
• Rig, hoist, and move materials within the worksite
• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units of subunits using tack welding, bolting, riveting or other methods.
• Set up and operate heavy duty metal-working machines such as break presses, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and drills equipment to cut, bend, form, punch, drill or otherwise form heavy metal components
• Install fabricated components in final products
• Able to setup and operate the following welding equipment:
  • Mig Welder
  • Tig Welder
  • ARC Welder
  • Torches
  • Line Burner
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Any additional duties assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience:

Any combination of education and/or experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 – 3 years of fitting and welding (MIG & TIG) experience
• Experience operating Hi-Lo and overheard crane
