City Administrator

City Administrator Responsibilities: This position isresponsible for directing, managing, and overseeing the day-to-day operationsof the City of Spearfish while planning for and providing guidance to theCommon Council regarding future operations. This is a full-time position.


Requirements: Candidates for the City Administrator position must have Knowledge and level ofcompetency commonly associated with the completion of a master's degree in acourse of study closely related to the occupational field. (Political Science,Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field). Candidateswill have experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectivesand functions of the departments in the city in order to direct and coordinatework within the city, usually interpreted to require ten years of relatedexperience with at least five years in a leadership capacity. Preference givento candidates who have held a director level, assistant city administrator/manager,or chief administrative position in a municipal government organization.
