Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio of 1-2
• Every 3rd weekend required, with Friday/Saturday night weekend coverage
• At least 1 holiday required among Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling may be considered
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state license or compact)
• Current certifications: NRP, ACLS, and BLS required
• AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred due to high acuity and fast pace of the unit
• Epic experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Valid references and copies of certifications required

Additional Information

• Manage high-risk and routine labor and delivery cases, including antepartum and postpartum care
• Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Skilled in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation and recovery, and vaginal delivery support
• Care for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, PROM, preterm labor, and VBAC management
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal resuscitation
• Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration at a different rate
• Experienced travelers preferred due to the demanding pace of the unit
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additional time off accepted afterward
