Registered Nurse Emergency Department

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will influence patient care at every turn—through collaborative relationships with your direct manager and participation in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. Your contributions help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing. Role Overview The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care consistent with state and specialty standards. Working with medical providers and the care team, you will provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using the nursing model of "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs, and resolving them proactively. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into clear, understandable language. Teach patients and families about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self‑management. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start date. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) credential with an RN or Registered Nurse diploma. Experience in an emergency department. Availability for a 12‑hour night shift position.
