Fire Alarm Service Technician

Overview Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and programming fire alarm systems. As a Fire Alarm Service Technician, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows. Responsibilities Act as our customer\'s best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer\'s first choice for service. Assist in the testing, programming and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems. Assist in the servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programming of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics and operational/product manuals. Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. Communicate and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company. Keep up to date and informed on all company policies. Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior. What You'll Need / Qualifications Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience. Minimum Experience: 3-5 years as a fire alarm service technician with experience in programming EST 3 or EST 4 (Edwards) fire alarm systems or similar complexity. Preferred Experience: 2 years of hands-on experience in the commercial/ industrial/ low voltage/ electrical industry (not required). NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm (preferred). Associates degree in Electronic technology, Instrumentation (preferred). Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted. Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems. Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions. Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper). A valid driver\'s license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
