APRN- Advanced Practice Nurse | Mountain Laurel Recovery Center | Westfield, Pennsylvania About the Job The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing general medical care and treatment to clients, under the direction of a physician. Performs history, physical examinations, and preventive health measures on assigned clients; provides consultation and liaison throughout the facility; performs daily rounds on clients as directed by the supervising physician; prescribes medications; and provides clinical assessments and diagnosis. Works collaboratively with the medical and clinical staff under the guidelines of state licensure for Nurse Practitioners. This position is onsite at the facility but may include some telehealth work to be determined by mutual agreement with the CEO. Roles and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Gather, develop, and evaluate age-appropriate history and physical (H&P) client data in collaboration with client, family, and health care team for physician’s use in treating clients. Assess and reassess physical, psychosocial and cultural needs of clients and formulate measures to meet client needs. Provide screening and medication management to clients served. Establish priorities in planning and organizing client care based on H&P assessment; participate in the formulation of client Master Treatment Plan. Encourage family involvement in client care; respond to identified client and family educational needs; assist in client teaching as it relates to managing medical needs or medication education. Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. Assist the physician with the clinical operation of the program. Document pertinent data including assessment, interventions, and evaluations. Chart clinical observation (direct or through dictation), evaluations and treatment of clients in required time according to facility guidelines. Collaborate with physicians and other staff on establishing realistic outcome goals as needed. Implement appropriate health care interventions as needed, using appropriate guidelines of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) prescriptive practice. Review medical reports released under the name of the Facility for assigned clients. Provide guidance to the clinical staff working with assigned clients to ensure that quality of care is provided. Prepare discharge summaries for physician review. Under physician collaborative practice agreement as a Family Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive privileges, call permissible medication to pharmacies. Provide on-call responsibilities on scheduled basis directed by medical staff. Focus on health promotion and disease prevention; may order, perform or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays; may prescribe medication. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements Master of Science of Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing required. One or more years’ experience as an RN with the client population of the facility line of business required. Experience in prescribing basic psychotropic medications that would ordinarily be managed in a primary care setting. Clinical experience working with the client population of the facility; ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment, and client care required. Licenses / Designations / Certifications Current Nurse Practitioner license required, per state regulations/requirements; may also require a current DEA license. CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
