Managing patient's fluid, blood, electrolyte, and acid-base balance, as well as recognizing and treating cardiac dysrhythmias Anesthesiologist also participate in the anesthesia care team, working with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Qualifications: Medical School: Complete a four-year medical degree program. Residency: Complete a four-year anesthesiology residency program. Fellowship (Optional): Consider pursuing a fellowship for specialized training in areas like cardiac or pain management. Certification: Pass the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) exam to become board-certified. Licensure: Obtain the necessary state medical license to practice anesthesiology.
