Physical Therapist Position at Marana HealthMarana Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join the Medical team at the Wilmot Family Health Center, located in Tucson, Arizona. The Physical Therapist (PT) promotes and maintains patients' functional health and mobility by evaluating, diagnosing, and treating movement dysfunctions and physical impairments. The PT develops individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability across patient populations to the extent licensed and/or certified. The PT practices independently within scope of licensure while collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary care teams.Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.The following qualifications are required:Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program required.Current Arizona Physical Therapist license in good standing required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MH upon hire).Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.The following qualifications are preferred:Experience in an outpatient rehabilitation, primary care, or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment preferred.Experience working with pediatric and adult patient populations preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.This position has the following supervisory responsibilities:Does not direct or supervise others.The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:Ability to effectively present and document information for patient population.Able to respond to questions from leadership, providers, managers, and members of the healthcare team.Must have sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority community.Ability to quickly assimilate, assess and act upon new concepts, trends, and initiatives.Exhibit strong customer service skills.Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner in a variety of settings, meet people with diplomacy and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to make decisions in line with state and federal regulations.Ability to read, comprehend, and analyze documents, regulations, and policies.Ability to prepare and submit complete and succinct documentation necessary to the job.Knowledge of physical therapy evaluation techniques, treatment planning, rehabilitation practices, and therapeutic interventions.Ability to educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, exercises, injury prevention, and wellness strategies.Duties and Responsibilities:Delivers comprehensive physical therapy services in an outpatient clinical setting.Performs comprehensive evaluations to determine patients' physical therapy needs and functional limitations.Develops and implements individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and patient goals.Provides therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, mobility training, neuromuscular re-education, and other therapeutic interventions within scope of practice.Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment plans as appropriate.Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and health maintenance strategies.Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare team members regarding patient care and treatment progression.Maintains accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation in accordance with organizational, state, federal, and payer requirements.Ensures proper documentation in patient charting, patient encounter forms, insurance forms, and all additional information pertaining to patient care.Refers patients to other healthcare providers and community resources as appropriate.Promotes wellness and functional independence through patient-centered care and education.Participates in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities as requested.Attends continuing education and training as required to maintain licensure and competency.Promotes community awareness of rehabilitation and wellness services.Promotes and participates in off-site activities such as health fairs and community events as requested by leadership.Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Rehabilitation Services Manager and/or Chief Clinical Officer.Other duties/projects as assigned.Benefits:Medical, dental, vision403(b) with employer contributionShort-term disability and other benefitsPaid time off including 11 holidays plus vacation and sick leave accrualPaid bereavement, jury duty and community service timeFederal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Professional Liability CoverageProfessional Licensure reimbursementTuition reimbursementMarana Health will recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job titles without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
