- Performing thorough assessments of patients, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and creating customized care strategies
- Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses in collaboration with fellow healthcare providers or independently (based on your credentials)
- Providing education to patients and their families concerning wellness, prevention, and disease management
- Prescribing medications and treatments within your designated scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic care
- Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver seamless and holistic patient care
- Accurately documenting patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Iowa
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a similar specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or capability to obtain within 90 days)
- Robust clinical understanding coupled with empathy in patient interactions
- Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and clinical colleagues

- Familiarity with EMR systems and comfort utilizing telehealth platforms
