Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psych Services department provides direct patient care for individuals with psychiatric illnesses, ensuring safety, support, and effective treatment. This role involves collaborative care planning, patient assessment, and resource coordination within a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients' mental health status and develop individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient conditions and respond to crises with appropriate interventions.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to update and evaluate treatment strategies.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care activities accurately and maintain detailed records.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on treatment options and supportive resources.
  
  
• 
  Ensure safety protocols are followed for all patients, especially in acute psychiatric situations.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid State of Maine RN license.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health nursing.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS certification.
  
  
• 
  Complete CPI training prior to starting the role.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit flexibility to provide 24/7 coverage and manage stress effectively.
