Advanced Practice Provider Full-Time Radiation Oncology

Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG), a highly respected 160+ provider, multi-specialty medical group, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Radiation Oncology team within a physician-led, community-focused health system.This is an exceptional opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside experienced radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and support staff dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care close to home.About the RoleThe Radiation Oncology APP will play a key role in the multidisciplinary management of oncology patients receiving radiation therapy. The APP will work closely with the radiation oncologist to provide clinical assessment, symptom management, survivorship care, patient education, and coordination of care throughout the treatment continuum.This position offers an outpatient practice with a predictable schedule and the opportunity to develop meaningful long-term relationships with patients and families during their cancer journey.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinationsManage patients undergoing radiation therapy and provide ongoing symptom assessment and managementEvaluate treatment-related toxicities and develop appropriate care plansProvide follow-up and survivorship care for oncology patientsOrder, review, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing within scope of practiceEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, side effect management, and supportive care needsCollaborate closely with radiation oncologists and multidisciplinary oncology team membersCoordinate care with medical oncology, surgery, primary care, and other specialties as appropriateMaintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical recordParticipate in multidisciplinary collaboration and quality improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsEducation & LicensureNurse Practitioner: Master’s degree from an accredited nursing programPhysician Assistant: Graduation from an accredited PA programActive Maryland license (or ability to obtain)Current DEA license and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) licenseCurrent BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)Unrestricted license with no history of suspension or revocationEligible for participation with all payersSkills & ExperiencePrior experience in medical or radiation oncology or complex chronic disease management preferredStrong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based practiceProficiency with electronic medical records (EMR experience preferred)Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilitiesStrong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while thriving in a team-based environmentCaring for you as you care for the CommUNITYFrederick Health offers a comprehensive and affordable benefits package.Health, Dental and Vision insurance are offered the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment to all employees hired to work at least 20 hours per week and we offer multiple plans to best meet your and your family’s needs.Life insurance, Short-Term Income Replacement and Long-Term Disability are employer paid for eligible employees.Frederick Health offers a robust Paid Time Off program for eligible employees.Our 403B retirement plan helps you save for your retirement and includes an employer match to eligible employees.
