Senior Staff Accountant – Construction Salary: Up to $85k Location: Columbus, Ohio Why This Opportunity Stands Out: Our client is a well-established and growing construction company in Columbus, Ohio, adding a Senior Staff Accountant to their team Opportunity to work closely with leadership and project teams on high-impact financial reporting Hands-on role with visibility into project performance and company operations Strong pipeline of active and upcoming construction projects Collaborative, down-to-earth culture aligned with the construction industry Ability to gain expertise in job costing and project-based accounting Stable organization with consistent growth and long-term career potential Clear path for advancement within the accounting and finance team Key Responsibilities for the Senior Staff Accountant: Support month-end and year-end close processes Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports Assist with job costing and tracking project expenses Maintain and update WIP schedules and support percentage-of-completion accounting Partner with project managers to monitor budgets and project performance Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies Assist with audit preparation and documentation Identify and support process improvements within the accounting function Qualifications for the Senior Staff Accountant: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 3–5+ years of accounting experience, construction industry preferred Exposure to job costing or project-based accounting strongly preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP Experience with ERP or construction accounting software is a plus Advanced Excel skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with both accounting and operations teams #J-18808-Ljbffr Creative Financial Staffing, LLC
