Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description Job Description The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is expected to perform all quality related duties in conjunction with other employees and departments contributing to the overall team effort, efficient process, and safe working environment. This position includes many essential components necessary for successful and efficient manufacturing, and as such, shares full responsibility for the final product delivered to the customer. Performance will be based on execution of work, ability to meet production support requirements, ability to maintain expected levels of quality and control, communication, continual improvement, the ability to work in a team environment, and successfully coordinate the operations of multiple departments to achieve success.This is an on-site position, and physical presence at the facilityis required toperform job responsibilities effectively. Responsibilities Develop and maintain trusting relationships with the assigned suppliers as well as our internal stakeholders. Assess supplier capability via site visits and process audits for compliance to regulations, agreements, standards, and documented processes. Collaboratively qualify processes with Suppliers, Design Engineers, Supplier Quality Team and Incoming Inspection Team. Actively participate in and lead new product development teams as it relates to supplier quality to support product and process design and development activities via leading the supplier risk management process. Support the review/approve product and process change control documentation and specifications as it relates to assigned suppliers. Manage NCR/MRB activities. First article sampling and reporting Develops Inspection Instructions/Techniques. Statistical analysis if required. SPC dimensional monitoring for production if required. Leading and coaching IQC inspectors. Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline. A minimum of 6 months experience at Quality Engineering in a fast paced and high growth manufacturingenvironment. Understanding of mechanical drawing (specification). Knowledge of GD&T is a plus. Knowledge and experience with Root Cause Analysis. The position may require travel. Must-Haves You have experience launched, into volume production, complex components and assemblies using quality planning from prototype through mass production stages. You have actively participated in a product development effort and thus know what it takes to transition from prototype to volume production. You have a good understanding of and have successfully implemented gates within a product development process. Strong problem-solving abilities to solve supplier issues. Understanding of mechanical specification. Experienced dealing suppliers. Job Type :Full-time Day Shift : 7:00 AM - 3:30PM; SwingShift : 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM Pay Range: $90k–$120k annually DOE (depending on experience and qualifications).
