Central Service Technician 2, Central Support Services, Jackson Main, FT, Mid Shift

Sterile Processing Technician

Operates all mechanical machinery; cart washers, instrument washers, steam sterilizers, low temp sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets, within sterile processing.

Uses established policies and procedures to complete work assignments.

Able to performs in all areas of sterile processing including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all set professional standards and regulations.

Able to perform assembly on basic instrument trays.

Reports broken instrumentation.

Supports and adheres to JHS policies and procedures.

Supervises and trains new personnel.

Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).

Other duties as assigned.

Generally requires 1 to 3 years of experience in sterile processing.

High School diploma is required; Bachelor's degree in related field is strongly preferred.

Valid Sterile Processing Technician Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM is Required.

Incumbents hired before November 20, 2019 must complete obtain the required certification by December 31, 2021.
