Altura Medical Associates /Mar Y Sol Mental Health Experts is expanding our women’s health services and is seeking an experienced  Nurse Practitioner (WHNP, FNP, or AGNP)with a strong interest and clinical background in  perimenopause, menopause, and hormone therapy .

This is an exciting opportunity for a provider who is passionate about women’s health and would like to focus their clinical work on  perimenopause, menopause, hormone management, and healthy aging within a supportive, physician-led multidisciplinary practice.

We are particularly interested in clinicians who have experience managing  menopausal hormone therapy (MHT/HRT) and are passionate about helping women feel their best, optimize their health, and thrive throughout midlife and beyond.

This is  not a traditional GYN position . The role is specifically focused on  perimenopause, menopause, hormone management, prevention, and healthy aging . Routine gynecologic care is not the focus of this position. The provider should be comfortable performing a pelvic examination or Pap test  only when clinically indicated as part of the patient’s menopause or hormone-related evaluation and treatment .

You will evaluate and manage women experiencing perimenopause and menopause, including concerns such as:

• Hot flashes and night sweats

• Sleep disturbances

• Fatigue and decreased energy

• Mood changes

• Brain fog and cognitive concerns

• Weight and metabolic changes

• Decreased libido

• Vaginal dryness and discomfort

• Genitourinary syndrome of menopause

• Bone and cardiovascular health concerns

You will develop individualized treatment plans that may include  estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and other evidence-based therapies when clinically appropriate .

Additional responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive menopause and hormone evaluations

• Prescribing and monitoring menopausal hormone therapy

• Ordering and interpreting appropriate laboratory testing

• Monitoring treatment response and adjusting therapy as appropriate

• Counseling patients regarding the benefits, risks, and alternatives to hormone therapy

• Providing education regarding nutrition, exercise, sleep, sexual health, bone health, cardiovascular health, and healthy aging

• Performing pelvic examinations or Pap testing  only when clinically indicated as part of menopause or hormone-related care

• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Collaborating with physicians and other members of our growing multidisciplinary team

Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioners (AGNPs)

Candidates should have:

• Active or eligible Connecticut APRN license

• Current national board certification

• Prescriptive authority

• Clinical experience in women’s health, menopause, hormone therapy, primary care, gynecology, or a related field

• Experience prescribing and monitoring hormone therapy strongly preferred

• Comfort performing pelvic examinations or Pap testing when clinically indicated for menopause or hormone-related care

• Strong patient education and communication skills

• Ability to practice with clinical independence while collaborating within a physician-led multidisciplinary team

• Perimenopause and menopause management

• Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT/HRT)

• Women’s sexual health

• Genitourinary syndrome of menopause

• Preventive and lifestyle medicine

• Bone and cardiovascular health during midlife

• Testosterone therapy when clinically appropriate

• Hormone delivery options including oral, transdermal, vaginal, injectable, and/or pellet therapy

Menopause-specific education or certification, including training through  The Menopause Society , is highly valued but not required.
