Our publicly traded client is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Sr Server and Cloud Administrator to join their team as a pivotal member that would play a key role. This role would be located onsite at the Company Headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. Overall: Provision, maintain and support critical infrastructure services within the IT Portfolio, across a diverse landscape of technology platforms and environments, including Cloud solutions, while contributing to the strategic direction of the technology for the Headquarters.

Principal Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include supporting the full complement of technical activities that encompass server infrastructure and operations:
• Design, implement, configure, and maintain various Azure SaaS Cloud Services such as Azure AD, AIP, ATP, ASR, SSO, MAM, Teams, Intune, AAD Connect, Exchange Online and O365.
• Deploy and maintain Azure IaaS Virtual Machines and Azure Application and Networking Services to support growth into the cloud.
• Optimize Azure buildouts for cost/performance (VM optimization, reserved instances, etc.).
• Own the business relationship with Microsoft account team to ensure we are taking advantage of all of Microsoft's training, sales support, and other offerings.
• Support a 24/7 environment by participating in on-call rotation and working outside of normal operating hours when necessary.
• Manage and maintain on premise Active Directory.
• Patch on premise and cloud windows servers.
• Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud backups. Support, manage, maintain, and upgrade environments (i.e. VMWare, Dell VxRail, and others) as needed.
• Lead monitoring, management, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of new and existing tools and products.
• Act as an escalation point for inquires by managing, analyzing, resolving, and documenting problems, making suggestions for improvements as needed.
• Mentor, train, and collaborate with Infrastructure colleagues.
• Design, implement and test complex system and technical solutions :
• Assist in the implementation of new architectures, including roadmaps and portfolios for infrastructure architecture:
• Keep current on new technologies . Research products and new technologies and roadmaps, and gain expertise in evolving technology to increase efficiency of business and operations. Recommend and understand how new technologies can be applied and implemented. Integrate systems into the current (computing) environment. Assures solutions are a fit for the specific purpose and closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
• Recommend and plan, manage, architect and design, and develop, infrastructure project and solutions to support company requirements and landscapes. Identify improvement opportunities with a focus toward more current technical solutions and migration paths. Implement small to large scale solutions adopting various technologies while automating business process models. Develop and execute solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work, focusing on automation and reduction of manual activities.
• Analyze flows, prepare design documents relating to all aspects of the architecture of the server technology.
• Assist in the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options, incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
• Support the need for cost-efficiency, and agility related to IT opportunities, maintainability, supportability, and operational efficiency.
• Assist in the establishment of an IT architecture and the adoption of architecture and standards methodology. Influence changes to standards when necessary.
• Provides analysis of security protection technologies as necessary.
• Provision and setup new infrastructure solutions, install and configure windows operating system and other operating systems (as needed) in cloud IaaS providers:
• Provide, manage, and upgrade Infrastructure domains and operating systems.
• Install and configure the Windows operating system in cloud IaaS providers.
• Analyze the configuration and network security of the systems and existing solutions to ensure operational stability, currency, and maintainability.
• Monitor System performance (Servers, software, hardware, and other infrastructure as it relates to optimal infrastructure performance), and when necessary, implement changes to improve and stabilize areas of concern.
• Assist in management of infrastructure contracts, licenses, end of life, new products.
• Assist in the administration of cloud service and a windows server environment.
• Advise business users, technical teams, and others as needed on best possible design solutions to a given problem:
• Assist and collaborate within a technical and functional team as needed, and work in an international team environment.
• Assist with selection of technical approach and capabilities to meet the company's (technical) requirements, evaluating new technologies for improved functionality and operational excellence.
• Establish strong relationships with the business and IT teams within our organization, driving improved communication of the architecture vision, and the needs and issues as they relate to technical delivery.
• Support business users (as needed) in the use of tools and applications required to do their job.
• Provide documentation :
• Adhere to design standards for infrastructure architecture.
• Document designs, processes, procedures, and operations architectures.
• Fully document IT technical projects, and draft accurate documentation that supports the project management efforts.
• Provide detailed specifications and proposed solution architectures.
• Maintain and update, infrastructure and operations processes and procedures.
• Identify improvements to IT documentation, network maps, processes/procedures, and tickets.
• Document and monitor requirements and projects.
• Work closely with project management team.

Qualifications

• B.S. in relevant education. Computer Science or related degree, M.S. or M.B.A. would be a plus.
• Action oriented - highly motivated and results oriented.
• Strong interest in innovative technologies and desire to work on pioneering engagements.
• 5+ years related professional experience, managing, architecting technical solutions, including experience in server administration, infrastructure architecture, and operations, cloud architecture and design, design, implementation, administration, and support:
• Experience with business process redesign.
• Demonstrated competency with several scripting and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of technology products with ability to design and integrate various types of servers, infrastructure.
• Experience working in vendor software solutions is a plus.
• Experience in domains administration, risk management, real time.
• Proficiency in implementing reliable, complex, secure, high performance and scalable solutions.
• Experience with deploying Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Policies, Azure Monitor, Azure backup, Azure Storage, Application Gateways, NSGs, Azure DNS and Load Balancers.
• Experience building cloud automation, including, PowerShell, ARM, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Application Insights.
• Good working knowledge of Azure Policy and understanding of cloud governance.
• Experience within an IT organization for mid-sized organization with multiple locations a plus.
• Experience in system diagnostics, such as performance tuning, capacity planning, and availability analysis.
• Demonstrated problem solver with excellent creative vision.
• Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and coordinate the work of others on premise and in the cloud.
• Experience in technical project management and administration using formal methodology and associated techniques and tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal - excellent communication (written and verbal) with ability to interact at a technical and non-technical level with infrastructure, network, development, and functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment:
• Demonstrated conflict management.
• Experience working with multicultural teams a plus.
