Job Title Mobile Diesel Technician Level II Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustment and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, starter, alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engine, transmission, clutch, differential systems. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, including electrical, braking, cooling, air conditioning, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engine, transmission, clutch, differential systems. Inspect, test, and use test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges to diagnose malfunctions. Road‑test vehicles to confirm proper operation. Identify problems and generate alternatives using sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and reconcile within the company‑issued service truck. Operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and perform safety checks. Work with clients and customers to assess needs and resolve issues. Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time efficiently. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work, upload pictures, and record parts used on Repair Orders using the TRAIT application. Complete DOT forms and other documentation timely. Work independently and manage a daily schedule. Maintain high productivity and adhere to standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed. Communicate with management and support via email or phone for repair estimates and approvals. Perform all work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety policies. Maintain service truck and perform daily safety checks. Requirements High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience, or a different combination such as a higher degree or 5 years of experience. Possess the hand tools required for the job duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must successfully complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical. Valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. Must be 21 years or older due to interstate commerce regulations. Must hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
