Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

This is a per diem position, payrate is $200/hr. A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for the pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care of the patient requiring anesthesia for surgical, medical, therapeutic or diagnostic procedures. This position will rotate throughout different hospitals in the healthcare system and provide anesthesia services across a variety of clinical settings, which could include an academic medical center, community hospitals, or ambulatory centers.

Essential Functions

• Develop anesthesia care plans.
• Serve as a resource for nursing staff on complex clinical cases and ethical dilemmas.
• Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Calibrate and test anesthesia equipment.
• Monitors the life support functions of patients during period of anesthesia for procedures or emergencies as needed.
• Prepares and evaluates the safety of anesthetic equipment, supplies, and drugs.

Qualifications

Education
Master's Degree Nurse Anesthesia Practitioner required
Anesthetist, Certified Registered Nurse License required
Experience as a CRNA for 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics and pharmacology as related to anesthesia. The major clinical component providing experience with a variety of anesthesia techniques and procedures for all types of surgery in the adult and pediatric population.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based care setting, with the ability to work independently as well as in a care team to deliver high quality care.

Effective interpersonal skills to work with surgeons and staff in a variety of cases and environments.

Flexibility to work according to the OR patient schedule, making changes as needed.

Fluent in verbal and written language skills; and timely responses when needed.

Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and different procedures and teams.
