Dishwasher

Kitchen Assistant / Prep Cook

Purpose: To ensure the efficient operation of the commercial dishwasher and the cleanliness of all pots, pans, utensils and to assist with other kitchen cleaning duties as directed.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Previous dishwashing experience in a restaurant or senior living setting preferred.
• Must have good interpersonal skills.
• Must have a strong commitment to customer service and desire to exceed customer expectations.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, guests, and other team members.
• Must meet all health-related and/or food handling requirements pertaining to local or state regulatory agencies.
• Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials.
• Must maintain current Food Handlers credentials.
• Must maintain annual Continuing Education Credits.
• Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Subject to pre-employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing and criminal background check.

Essential Functions:

• Dishwashing
• Prepares dishwashing machine for operation on assigned shift.
• At beginning of shift, washes all pots, pans and utensils that have accumulated since end of previous dishwashing period.
• Washed all pots, pans, utensils, and dishes that are utilized during assigned shift.
• Ensures that all china, glassware, silverware, and equipment are returned to designated areas after cleaning.
• Records all wash and rinse water temperatures on the Dishwashing Temperature Log sheet at specified times.
• Records notable food waste that occurs on assigned shift, utilizing designated form.
• Completes report of broken china, glassware and equipment occurring on assigned shift that is to be discarded.
• At end of shift, cleans the dishwashing machine according to specified procedure.
• Kitchen Cleaning
• Responsible for disposing of all garbage from kitchen and dish room into proper containers outside, throughout shift as needed.
• Responsible for breaking down and removing all cardboard from kitchen and placing into designated recycle bins.
• Mops dish room and kitchen floors throughout shift as needed.
• Ensures that team member break room remains clean; removing used dishes, cleaning the cart, and disposing of garbage as needed throughout shift.
• Assists with other duties on Daily, Weekly, or Monthly kitchen cleaning schedules as assigned.
• Food Service
• Assists the cooks and dining room personnel in preparation and delivery of room service trays.
• Assists Director of Signature Dining, Lead Cook and Cook with food preparations as directed.
• May assist in preparing carts for delivery.
• Other
• Attends all required team member meetings and in-service training sessions.
• Upholds Residents' Rights as defined by state regulations and by Company policy, at all times.
• Supports and upholds all other Company policies, and the service philosophy.

• Other duties as assigned.
